Our History

Dr. Julie Hengehold and Dr. Jeremy Parrott

Drs. Jeremy Parrott and Julie Hengehold are husband and wife.   They met while in dental school in Ann Arbor, MI.  Jeremy graduated one year prior to Julie and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry while stationed in Great Lakes, IL.   After Julie graduated dental school, Julie and Jeremy got married.  They had their reception at the historic and beautiful Thomas Edison Inn.   After the wedding they moved to Okinawa, Japan to serve with the United States Navy.  During the two years in Okinawa, Julie had the opportunity to deploy on a humanitarian mission to Bangladesh and Jeremy deployed on a humanitarian mission to the Philippines.  They both enjoyed these missions and felt that it helped them grow clinically, personally and professionally.  After Okinawa, they completed their active duty service in Newport, RI.   They met a lot of great dentists in the Navy and gained great insight from working side-to-side with specialists.  They enjoy surrounding themselves with good friends and sharing a good meal. 

Education and Training

Drs. Hengehold and Parrott received excellent training while attending the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.  They continued their training while serving in the Navy.  They each complete over 100 hours in continuing education annually.  You can be assured that these dentists are well educated and experienced.

Dr. Julie Hengehold is a family oriented general dentist.  Her passion for dentistry is evident in the high quality restorations that she creates in the most comfortable way possible.  She believes educating each patient so they can achieve healthy and beautiful smiles that last a lifetime.  Dr. Hengehold is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the U.S. Navy Dental Corps.  She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and is a graduate of the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry in Ann Arbor.   She maintains her clinical excellence by far exceeding the minimum continuing education requirements in cosmetic and general dentistry.  She continues to work with nationally known instructors on the latest skills and techniques.  Dr. Hengehold enjoys the outdoors where you can find her kayaking, riding her bike, running and cross-country skiing.  She is also the Treasurer on the University of Michigan Alumni Cheerleading Association.

Dr. Jeremy Parrott is a family oriented general dentist.  He is known for his gentle, friendly, and energetic manner.   He believes it is important to feel comfortable in the dental chair and will spend the time to help your smile.  Dr. Parrott is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the U.S. Navy Dental Corps.  He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and is a graduate of the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry in Ann Arbor.  Following dental school Dr. Parrott completed a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Naval Health Clinic Great Lakes.  He continues to maintain his clinical excellence by far exceeding the minimum continuing education requirements in cosmetic and general dentistry.  His passion for the art of dentistry is demonstrated through his creativity and attention to detail in creating beautiful restorations.  Dr. Parrott enjoys the outdoors where you can find him kayaking, boating, biking, or skiing.

Jamie joined Family Dentists in the summer of 2012.  She became dedicated to a career in dentistry after experiencing life in a town without a dentist or a fluoridated water supply.  She determined that a career in dentistry would allow her to help her community and others like it.  Jamie is very skilled and makes patients feel comfortable in the dental chair.

Jamie gives back to her community through charitable efforts with the American Red Cross and spends her leisure time with her husband and two children on the family farm.
